Two, In the Process of Becoming
The sea continually creates new from old. Here, the small bit of shell is becoming sand, and the piece of broken glass is slowly becoming something beautiful, sea glass.
A Tough Climb
The tide line is absolutely littered with carcasses of sand crabs at this time of the year. Some seem to have had a more difficult time than others.
Gentleness
With no four-needle pines in this growing zone, this is likely from one of our abundant eastern pines, with one needle lost.
Regardless of variety, the gentle splay of the needles, the monochromatic palette, and the soft early light combine to create a lovely photograph.
I just sighed when I spotted this.
The Ocean’s Lines
I look and look at this photo, wondering why this particular piece of seaweed, which was very malleable, did not follow the sweep of the tide lines.
