Challenging an Interloper

Challenging an Interloper

Emergence

Emergence

The blowing sand this month is burying everything. Instead of wondering what is lost or hidden, though, I like to look at what remains as ’emerging’. The forms and colors that peek out of the sand are so different from … Continue reading →

These feathers settled together beautifully. I love the blue on the inside of the sand crab carapace… it seems to hold a gentle bit of the sky within!

Nestled in Brilliant Sun

Nestled in Brilliant Sun

True Blue

True Blue

A Bit of the Heavens

A Bit of the Heavens

A blue on the sand always catches my eye. The ocean is sometimes blue, and the sky is blue, but not tide line scatter. The blue on the interior of the shell almost shimmered with life and vibrancy! The morning … Continue reading →

What’s Hiding in the Hole?

What’s Hiding in the Hole?

This thin, tiny bit of blue slate seems to have been gently moved away from covering the sand hole. These holes are usually made by small clams or sand crabs. I love the position of the small orange pebble just … Continue reading →

The Blue Line in the Sand

The Blue Line in the Sand

This Portuguese Man of War could have given a nasty sting, even in death. Its long, blue tentacle, though, was strikingly and singularly beautiful stretched out along the sand.

The Rainbow Beach

The Rainbow Beach

Cocklawburn Beach, Northumberland, has a pebbled area where the rocks are every color of the rainbow. This is a raw photo, and in it are the shades we more frequently associate with flowers, or a rainbow. Again, another reason why … Continue reading →
