From the Storm-Tossed Sea
The colors transcend perfect form. That these tiny shells survived being tossed to the tide during a storm makes them more beautiful.

The accent is on the jingle shell, as it should be.
Minimalist
A footprint, a fragment, and a small red bead all at the very edge of the tide’s furthest reach. Simple, contemplative, and minimalist.
Conglomerate
There are all kinds of things going on here . . . Bits of shells, pebble, evidence of ocean parasite activity, and an item that I could not identify.
It is a fitting photo to start my Saturday morning because there are all kinds of things going on at home this weekend. I hope they all come together as well as this still life.
Linear Deposit
I loved the linearity of these fragments followed by the two, punctuating pebbles.
My husband was with me on this walk and took a phone photo as I was capturing this tide line still life. Sometimes I just ‘see’ arrangements that I think are beautiful in their own right . . . Even those composed of broken shells and ordinary pebbles.
Feather, Fragment, and Magnifying Seaweed
All three pieces are beaten by the waves, but almost made more beautiful in their form and composition. The magnifying seaweed was a surprise when I downloaded the photos from my camera.
Like Broken Porcelain
The colors and shapes of these shell pieces are evocative of antique porcelain dishes, lost at sea and washed in with the tide.
Lost Wings
Somewhere, an angel is looking for her wings.
Stripes and Specks
The colors in the shell and in the sand are so, so similar! It is also appropriate for me to post a monochrome on the day of a major snowstorm!
