The (Very?) Familiar Castle
Look familiar? This is not an historical castle, but one that should be familiar to many of you.
Sometimes the shadows present themselves as independent images later, after I get home and upload the photographs. This one, though, was identifiable right away, on the beach. I took a number of photos as the sun went in and out of clouds before I managed this one.
Pretty fun, yes?

Hook and Eye
The summer of 2014 is officially here with the start of Memorial Day weekend (here in the US). Have picnics and barbecues, and enjoy the outdoors – beach, mountain, lake, park, and backyard. Most of all, make memories with family and friends this season. The memories that are made, and the stories that retell them, serve as a glue that can bind hearts and generations.
Oh, and remember to look for the little treasures that may be at your feet.
Flown In
This bit of golden beauty seems to have flown right in and dropped at my feet. This was very much the effect, because the sun peeked from behind morning clouds just as the the gold caught my eye, creating the wings. Magical!
The title also refers to the fact that I have flown back home. Although the time away was spent mostly sitting beside a coal fire on a farm, sharing stories and time with family, I did get to two lovely bits of Northumberland coastline. Photos forthcoming … although most of my time walking the tideline there was spent simply resting my spirit.
Time spent with family is the best time on earth.
