True Purple

Yes, this shell fragment is really this purple. I took this small piece home because it was so remarkable. I can only guess how far it came on the waves to land on our tide line. We don’t have many shells full of such color on our beaches.
The hydrangea/hyacinth/sunset purple color is what first caught my eye on a very grey morning. We were just minutes from the first of the storms to hit the mid-Atlantic coast yesterday. The arrangement and color of the pebbles beside it creates a perfect still life.
