Tide Line Ice as a Compositional Element

You know that place where the tide ebbs and then retreats? Where the ocean leaves a so-shallow layer of seawater on the sand as it retreats to low tide? I now know that the salt water that is left there freezes in single digit temperatures. The patterns along the edge of the sea were absolutely beautiful, simple, and at points elegant. With shells and other natural beach items there were lovely still lifes all around.

The big issue (for me, who does not really like the cold) was staying on the beach with fingers exposed long enough to take some nice photos!
