Although it’s just a seed pod, variety of plant unknown, it caused me to pause when I spotted it. I rarely bring shells or stones home, but this strange item now sits on my window sill.
Anyone who might know what plant this is from, please let me know!

Thanks! I found out that it is a Eurasian water chestnut, an invasive species that is plaguing Hudson riverways. This photo was taken on a beach south of there.
Eeek! Invasive?! Shame that such a cool seed pod would be such a burden!!!
