The sky was brilliant yellow on the horizon early this morning. When I looked down and spotted this shell, the sunrise seemed to be captured at my feet.
Patterns found in nature positively shine. This humble clam’s blue stripes trump any striped pattern found in haute couture.

Simplicity and grace in pastel.
The very early sun was perfectly aligned to create an angular shadow from this ovoid clam shell. What a treat!
As perfectly formed as if by a jeweler, this small piece of clam shell looks like filigree. We did pick it up after photographing, and it will be made into a necklace.
An odd assemblage of flotsam becomes beautiful when washed by the tide.
