Tossed and tumbled, yet still delicate and beautiful in form.
Conglomerate
There are all kinds of things going on here . . . Bits of shells, pebble, evidence of ocean parasite activity, and an item that I could not identify.
It is a fitting photo to start my Saturday morning because there are all kinds of things going on at home this weekend. I hope they all come together as well as this still life.
Protected
A gentle and simple alignment of shell fragments and a tiny pebble eludes to shelter and protection.
Children, This is the Real Sandman
Could be the stuff of dreams, or nightmares. Really, though, I think it is just a bit of fun.
Not Parallel
And it bothers me a little. This photo is a little zen, though. Quieting.

Erosion takes many forms along the tide line.;
Linear Deposit
I loved the linearity of these fragments followed by the two, punctuating pebbles.
My husband was with me on this walk and took a phone photo as I was capturing this tide line still life. Sometimes I just ‘see’ arrangements that I think are beautiful in their own right . . . Even those composed of broken shells and ordinary pebbles.
A Granddaughter’s Heart
The first spring-like day.
An after school beach exploration with my nine year old granddaughter. (An avid shell gatherer, and tide line ‘spotter’ for me).
“Look, Omi! A heart rock! Take a picture for your blog!”
She holds the sky in her hand, and she holds my heart in her own.
Still life with Snow Pebble and the Tide’s Signature
When the high tide hits the snow it creates lovely little ice pebbles that are tossed around with the retreating waves. This one positioned itself in a very ‘zen’ manner.
