Blown to the very edge of the tide, this set of pine needles lasted only seconds after the photo was taken. The early morning shadow creates a lovely crest in the sand.
Early morning shadows are often delightful.
Some mornings, the sun is so bright, that the shadows are what take precedent over the forms themselves.

I positively fell in love with the formation of bubbles that remained in these very small shells after the tide receded, but a closer look made the lace-like shadows beneath the bubbles even more compelling.
