The sticky, hazy, hot temperatures scream at me to make life simple this week. Cold meals and limited outdoor activity ease the physical stress of a near 100F heat index. Simplicity in basic household chores, as well as in the photographs that I review help to clear summer haze from my mind.

The simplicity of these two small pebbles is beautiful. Their colors and the positioning of them on the tide line are what first attracted me. When I put them onto my iPad, though, the difference in their textures became more pronounced, and just as interesting.
